Game 1 Murvoth's new Chair

Players:
Jarvis Riley
Murvoth
Rorauk Fyrforg
Shayline Eridor

3rd of Eternal Sun, 3122;
Murvoth, Rorauk Fyrforg, and Shayline Eridor reported to Granyt Fyrforg in the Greyson’s Grey Ranger outpost in Crag and were told there have been complaints of caravans being attacked by bandits, and complaints from the outlying farms. The rangers were dispatched to make a patrol and to find out what they could. Jarvis arrived late for the briefing and was told to get the information from his fellow rangers.
The squad nominated Rorauk Fyrforg as squad leader and he started leading them up the north shore of the river and questioned the farmers there as they went and they found nothing unusual until the evening of the 5th of Eternal Sun when they stumbled upon a bandit camp in a small woods. Jarvis, who had not yet received further briefing from his teammates marched forward and called out to the camp asking who they were. Other then gaining the camps full attention there was not much of a reply until Rorauk marched up beside him with his surcoat and shield emblazoned with the Fyrforg Coat of arms. A cry of “Kill the Fyrforg” was heard and battle ensued.
The majority of the group targeted Rorauk Fyrforg although a few stray shots were loosed at Jarvis who was more in the open and an easier target. Jarvis made one quick thrust at a rogue who was in front of him battling Rorauk and slit his throat, getting Jarvis sprayed with the blood. After that sole attack on one of what were obviously the followers the whole squad surrounded and attacked the leader. Murvoth cried out to take him alive, and they did manage to subdue him with their efforts. As the other Rogues noticed how the group was dealing with their leader they hot footed it for the horses and rode off, leaving one dead and their captured leader behind.
Murvoth declared he would sit on the unconscious leader while the others searched the camp. Someone declared that the camp had been in the process of making dinner when they attacked, so Murvoth moved “his new chair” next to the fire and ate while the rest searched the camp. After the camp had all been secured, the corpse had been stripped and moved well away from the camp, and dinner had been ate they decided to see if they could rouse their prisoner who’s chest Murvoth had been sitting on and question him. At this time they realized that a 500+ pound Orc sitting on a 180 pound human’s chest makes it extremely difficult for the human to breath and they had another corpse to deal with.
After spending the night in the camp on the 6th of Eternal sun they continued to the nearest hamlet to report to the local constabulary about the camp and to turn over one of the two wagons and team of horses for it and other gear found at the camp to the hamlet. They then realized they were the constables but still turned over the goods for locals use.

While the injured troops are in the infirmary Jav-rasn and Zimeria decide to make a flight down to Eldara in search of a druid to train Jav-rasn and some healing salves. They find a druid but are unable to procure any salves. After spending a couple weeks down there they fly back to Crag to check in with the rest of the squad. It takes over three weeks for all to heal back up.
4th of Festival Moons After the squad is healed Rorauk goes to report to Granyt but is told he is out for a few days, so the squad decides to head to the Slatespirit Inn, owned by husband and wife Bilbur and Bali Slatespirit, which is about a half a day’s ride out of town and a local favorite of Mercenaries hoping they might recruit some more help to return and check on the Bandit Camp.
At the inn the squad meets a couple members of Arianna’s Soldiers, Claus Offenheim and Pitch Slagger, and their leader Arianna Silvermoon. Rorauk and Arianna hit it off and a spark blazes between them. A squad of Red Hawks enters while Rorauk is mooning over Arianna and begins to make trouble. Shayline tries to intervene before blows are struck but to little avail. As a bar brawl breaks out Jav-rasn decides to repeated entangle everyone to try to halt it as a group of flame-touched dwarves arrive from old mines below the inn. Eventually those entangled break free, and some of the RedHawks are knocked out while two end up dead, and all but one of the flame-touched dwarves, Gustaf Slatespirit, are killed. Rorauk spends most of his time during the battle freeing his new love from the webs from Jav-rasn which keep entangling her.

4th of Festival Moons
In the aftermath of the battle the squad takes stock of what happened and decides to tie up the Red hawks that are unconscious from the bar brawl, and Gustaf who they determine is under some spell, and leave them under the guard of Alanasa while the rest of the squad and Rorauk’s new love interest Arianna and her two companions go down below to see if they can dispose of whom ever cast the spell on the dwarves.
Once in the tunnels the group quietly advances forward using caution to sneak up on the enemy. After a bit of a search they locate Gustaf’s crew’s new tunnel and enter it. It leads them to an abandoned Shrine to Ceynara that the main entrance to has caved in. The hall leading upto the shrine itself is lined with six statues of beardless dwarves and they can see scorch marks on the floors and walls of where they determine the other dwarven crew was enspelled. They also determine that it is desecrated ground, so decide that they need to consecrate it.
Just over halfway through the ritual the statues come to life and attack the squad trying to get through to Shayline to disrupt the ritual. The others had formed a protective wall around Shayline earlier and it held as they held the now living statues back and Zimeria finished them off with a jet which turned them to rubble. Pitch slept through the battle while Claus took a devastating blow to the belly but Zimeria was able to heal him only leaving a nasty scar. They tightened ranks on their protective wall about Shayline as she continued the ritual consecrating the shrine in the name of The Silver Unicorn.
As the ritual ends the large statue of Ceynara comes to life and screams in pain as it comes for the squad. The line holds again as Jav-rasn casts a phantasm of the Silver unicorn running past hoping to distract it and Murvoth makes a mighty blow that shatters its head in one shot calling out to The Silver Unicorn as he does so. During their celebration on their victory and the consecration of their new temple to The Silver Unicorn they notice that the Silver Unicorn Phantasm does not seem like such a phantasm as it glances over its shoulder at them as it walks away and they feel the touch of being chosen of the horn.
There ensues a bit of discussion on what to do next and they decide they need to check on the condition of the ones they left above for the past day while they were doing the ritual. They determine that the spell on Gustaf was stronger than they had hoped and was still in effect. They decided to take him below to the new temple and bless him in it to try to drive the flame influence from his body. It racked his body but was successful. They then decided that as punishment for starting the bar brawl the Red Hawks would have to help clean the newly consecrated temple, and they worked out further plans for the temple.
The Slatespirits are pleased to have a new temple below their inn, but are not happy with the thought of all sorts of people tromping through their backrooms and storage areas to get to it, so it has been decided they will wall off Gustaf’s tunnel and create a new tunnel leading directly to the outside for an entrance, and it has been decided for now they will not breach the cave-in to explore where the original entrance to the shrine was.
After the initial cleaning of their new temple was completed they decided to turn the miscreant Red Hawks loose and to return to Crag and report in. After hearing their report Granyt decided that they should spend some more time completing their plans for the new temple and made some promotions. Rorauk Fyrforg is now Ranger Corporal. Jav-rasn, Murvoth and Shayline are Ranger First Class. Alanasa, Tath One-Eye, and Zimeria are Rangers. The squad then went about finding and hiring some miners to make the new tunnel and wall off the old one, and a sculptor to carve out a white marble statue of The Silver Unicorn for in their temple. They also went shopping for stone tables and chairs determining they are going to have it more of a meeting hall then a conventional temple with pews and pulpit.
Discussion has been made of trying to recruit Arianna’s Soldiers into the Greyson’s Grey Rangers.

Arianna Has been recruited as a Ranger First Class, Claus Openheim and Pitch Slagger have both been recruited as Ranger recruit. The squad spent the month setting up their newly consecrated temple, hiring a half dozen miners and a sculptor. In their off time they participated in various activities. Aiden Burke and Murvoth spent time patrolling the area a bit. They ambushed a small group that was skulking about the area. Aiden turned one of them and found out that the group of Red Hawks they banished has been gathering their other forces and are planning a retaliatory strike. Murvoth ended up with a few bruises from the conflict. Jav-rasn spent time in the Slatespirit Inn retelling the tale of how they consecrated the former shrine to Ceynara into a temple to The Silver Unicorn. Rorauk managed to get just about everyone upset with him practicing his persuasion. Shayline spent her time exploring the area and found numerous mysteriously dead animals. And Zimeria demolished a practice dummy attempting to learn first aid on it. After a month and a half of work on their temple they got it cleaned up and a new statue of The Silver unicorn in it, a bunk room setup, and the tunnel dug byGustaf filled in and a new tunnel dug out to the surface.

11 Forest Dance
Aiden receives a return message giving him a location about two days travel into the mountains. Rorauk says he recognizes where the location is and it is large enough to hold two or three hundred men. After much discussion of multiply splitting up the group it is decided to have Jav-rasn do an aerial reconnaissance since although it would take a couple days travel on the ground he should be able to fly there and back in a day. Jav-rasn flies out and sees a large number of tents flying over at a thousand feet. He decides to make a lower pass at about seven hundred and fifty feet and drops a little bottle of explosive consequences into the middle of the camp and draws the attention of three gargoyles that fly after him. They are flying faster than him but he has a head start in position and altitude. When the gargoyles get within range he casts blind upon them and hides himself in the clouds to get away from them and gets back to the temple and the rest of the squad without further incident.
12 Forest Dance
After discussion of splitting the squad again it is decided that all will ride to Crag to get more troops to mount a ground assault against the camp they found. Sato Wyldehorse was not feeling well so he returned to Crag before the squad went deeper into the crypt. Jav-rasn advocated for a rest, but the others wished to push on. Although they did spend a couple hours searching through and making sure that everything was cleared out behind them before they delved deeper into the crypt.
Heading deeper in the crypt they find a specter that is none too happy to see them. They find it a bit tougher to kill then they anticipate but with some very nice hits do dispatch it. They trudge across the ruins of its crypt to go even deeper into the crypt stopping just long enough at the bodies of two dead gargoyles to smash them further to ensure they do not come back to life behind them.
Deeper yet they travel and find the lowest portion of the crypt stifling hot with what appears to be a river of lava flowing through the center of it. As they come down the stairs they spot two live gargoyles which they do battle with quickly dispatching with little trouble, but as they cross the distance to the far end where they see a glow on the wall the heat begins to get to them. They do battle with two Abyssal brutes and a horde fiend to close the portal being opened in the wall, but most of them fall to the heat before the final blow on the fiend which closes the portal and cools the room. Although many of them fall from heat exhaustion, only Pitch Slagger succumbs to actual heat stroke. Murvoth strikes the heads from the brutes and fiends which he wishes to mount and keep as trophies from the battle and they strip the bodies of their black iron weapons and armors. Being in such close proximity to the grisly trophies for several days as they return to Crag, Shayline and Murvoth feel the effects of corruption begin to pull at their souls and it is decided to turn them all over to others to dispose of and the two of them head into the woods to do a purification ritual hoping to erase the corruption they are feeling.

The squad receives orders to look into the unusually large number of dead animals they had reported in the area of the Silver Unicorn Temple. They hire a number of miners to come with them to do additional work on the temple while they are there. They start their trip to the temple, but just before they reach the temple they spot an old keep that they have never seen there before. They spot a sole person atop one of the towers. Aiden, Claus, Murvoth, and Pitch stay with the wagon and the miners while Arianna, Jav-rasn, Rorauk, and Shayline head over to question the man. He identifies himself as Ekril Heaupof and lowers the drawbridge to admit them. As he starts to tell what he knows the winds start to increase inside the keep, but those at the wagon notice no change in the nice fall weather. And those in the keep spot a group of twenty-one wind wraiths appear outside the keep. The wind wraiths charge across the drawbridge in two columns at Rorauk who has dismounted beside his horse in the sallyport. Jav-rasn flies over Rorauk and sends two quick jets out across the drawbridge taking out half of the wind wraiths and alerting those at the wagon that something is amiss. Rorauk’s horse bolts into the keep’s stable as the battle ensues.
As the battle goes on the obvious leader of the wraiths comes to face Rorauk who is overcome with terror, and picks up a major phobia of strong winds. Aiden, Claus and Murvoth rush down from the wagon and attack from the rear while Pitch remains with the miners and wagon. They have some small success fighting hand to hand, but Jav-rasn has the best luck with his jets taking the wind wraiths out in numbers. Throughout the battle the wind continues to increase. After the battle Jav-rasn and Rorauk both try to settle the spooked horse with no success. They decide to abandon the horse and leave the keep as the winds continue to build. Ekril lowers the keeps banner as Shayline watches over him and all leave the keep.
Shortly after they get out of the effect of the winds the keep once again vanishes and the plain is empty as if it had never been there taking Rorauk’s Horse with it and leaving Ekril with the squad. Ekril thanks the squad for saving him and swears to serve Shayline.
