Shaintar_J&L_Defenders of Stahlheim

Traveling far away from comfort. Looks like a long trek ahead also.
Zathras lets my charges go hungry :(

I was summoned to go in charge of an escort for a Fae emissary, I was tasked with trying to find a number of Rangers and allies that would work well together and protect this emissary and gather intel on the travels.
So first I decided that Zathras should go as I know he has an vast understanding of languages which would likely come in handy.
After we got to the briefing area I was pleasantly surprised that the higher ups had sent Drew a fascinating Goblin, Jarvis a fellow dwarf, Ssslick a large Dregordian, Thrunk & Wonderkill a pair of Brinchie.
So all in all a diverse array was assembled.

Dark Moons

Enough time has been focused, though that did not seem to matter much. More concentration wasted on these barricades after it seem nothing productive could come from traveling north. Modifying a complex gate on the west side and building one up north, it was completed despite confusion I had for the sodding complexity of this bloody wright fashioned barricade. Marching forward, our Sergeant too focus or oblivious moved up ahead. Miners were found, but these were not builders. THESE WERE BLOODY ABOMINATIONS!!!!! Black blood poured out and bones like spikes puncture through skins. Closer to undead in pattern, they had us surrounded and we had low visibility as well.

That sorcerer Zathras is capable, perhaps too capable as he streamline through the horrid things that were dwarves at a time. Unfortunately their blood was like fire or acid, cleaving through our armors slowly as we kept them from advancing. My precious plate was shit now, though the others I think drank too much. Dwarven Vampires do not exist. Note to self, get them some psychological help. Most were safe, but now my curiosity has had enough. Very tempted to collapse the cave if this weird sickness can be transmitted.

Beginning of Dark Moons

Finally we are back from our travels, though immediately we were sent to the headquarters. Another new recruit and he is an Olaran. Why can’t we get any sodding dwarves? At least its an Olaran which beats dealing with say the Fae. Reports came about on the Crysarium shortages which based on reports what use to occupy the area brings worry. I have some level of respect towards these Builders, that admiration leaves the moment denizens of my home country are harmed.

We made it to the destination, miners frantic as no one has returned once they plunge on downward. The Sergeant during this time gave out promotions, for some it was long overdue in my opinion Next was a tiring project of securing the area, sealing up most of the pathways to lower the chance of getting surrounded. Hammering left me with a headache, though all work went to shit during one of our days. Beams came crashing, people were pinned, and whatever stealth we had was sundered. One hilarious thing was watching the Goblin spew his guts out, ballsy to chug Stonesweat and get poisoned by the results. That place would take a week to make proper again. Nonetheless things were complete and we were ready to go… where is that small goblin though?

During time spent on the road, a few of us looked to better ourselves in many endeavors. Primarily, a few of the dwarves grasp at the opportunity towards improving their battle prowess in a more tactical way. Granted these lessons by Chief of Security of the Clan Chief’s entourage of soldiers protecting him, it seem the rest took advantage. The Alakar Nessius recently acquainted himself, serving nearby in the area of Olara. He took towards obtaining the native language of the region by the Seneshal. One peculiar dwarf equipped with the Rapier took to learning to ride in a manner that compliments his dexterous form. All became more capable under someone’s tutelage. Colliding within Rhion with a Gargoyle, things were mostly uneventful as a volley of cross bolts scared the creature of flame away. Where it was going no one knew, the caravan continuing forward to Stahlheim.

Month of White River

Why can I never find a way to keep things simple during these long trips, maybe it needed some fun in beating a Brinchie in Dwarvish plate to rise my spirit. Early onduring our travel out of Echer ’naught some drama emerged like I can stress about enough. The Wyvern I rescued and nursed to health was too driven towards eating one of the horses, pushing for a confrontation after convincing him to stay. Chue was so intent on eating Kujo at first, hopefully this was only a phase. He lunged for the horse, I had to pin him down with my muscular arms. Ranger 1st Class Geppert Bronzeheart and Ranger Mozog will be punished for making a scene in front of the clanchief and making this situation rougher. Blinding it with those weird poppers made him furious, almost getting poisoned and twice the goblin hit me with potatoes. Worse was during his weird attempt to help, Geppert had his ammo explode and spook the horses to move off with Caden and Mozog on the wagon . Things were settled quickly and I punched the wyvern as punishment into unconsciousness. It was very tempting to do it to the others, but I opted to force them to march until a better punishment could be done as walking naked in the cold was too severe.

No one wished for the wright to test his weapon he fixed near the horses, Shayline directing him off far enough to not scare the animals or worse cause more trouble. Maybe all the arcmancy has gotten me tense, but with how similar it was to that awful magic I found himself disliking it further. Go figure when alone he got captured, resulting in all of us trailing for his location. A fight commenced, immediately they were so obsessed in shooting my eye out. More than once. I know this is how warfare works, but it annoyed me plenty.

These were Malakarians collecting a bounty on Geppert, think it relates to that one group where he killed their brother and we put the other to a prison cell. Just me, Shayline and Rorauk; the rest were tagging with the caravan in the morning to protect him. We on the otherhand were dealing with these Malakarians on horses with….. I fear were Dwarvish Crossbows. Most disturbing from a comment on their range was these were those elite ones Rorauk got crafted for a present. Have I mention there is fun in killing. Maybe not often but they deserved it, disemboweling them with my white-silver gauntlets. It left terror in the eyes of those further from me, chasing after them. In hindsight hurting the animals was wrong, yet pain and emotion ruled me. Shayline blew a few away from escaping, Rorauk piercing his bolts through a few and maybe in dark humor myself crushing its leader hiding under his dead horse. Saving Geppert we rushed to catch up. The dwarves combined their lore on weaponry, addressing the fact they were made by the Highwalls whom Rorauk has married into. Great less fighting and more inves.. searching. Still pondering on the troubles Wolfhaven mentioned back in Olara. Already I feel compelled to return for more than one reason. Someone needs to show me more on this weird magic force stuff I am doing.

Beginning of Gray Winds
I have had enough battles to haunt me recently, dealing with the builders leaving scars that cannot be mended so fast. The tempest lurking back in some form by some magi, glad they were destroyed before anymore hardships festered my conscious. Within Crag finally, it was too easy to hope some rest could be granted. A caravan heavily carriage guarded appeared with those Ironreich guards lifting those weapon like tower shield must mean the person they were protecting was the Clan Chief of Stahlheim. This recruit should not brandish a fae sword in seeing distance to the dwarves, feeling hostilities increase from what seem a big insult. Part of the caravan needed us rangers to brave the terrain to Echer’ Naught. If only the bridge was finished, I dread the idea of what has been noted to be a month walk. Can’t these wrights build some equipment to quicken our adventure to this destination? I would if I could comprehend it.

7 days into Gray Winds getting to Stone

Boredom sunk into my mind, only afforded some breaks to indulge in some training and feeding my companions. Shame the tempest kept supplies thin, imagine it will be a most horrendous winter for the wildlife. Maybe Shayline little haven for the animals has bare fruit or vegatables I guess. Whichever controls hunger. We were the security for the dwarves, but after everything I’ve dealt with lately this was soothing I suppose. Regardless the cold air kept everyone alert for the meanwhile.

A few days out of Stone

Stricken with negative thoughts in the long trek, senses focused with a loud scout of INCOMING from Flint as his crossbolt burrowed into the body of the flesh of these aerial creatures. Dwarves kept peppering these large wyverns with crossbolts, difficult to think about attacking them for the affliction of the recent battles down south. Very jarring to witness my comrades attacking these creatures, pondering if I only care. Probably not a stretch for their indifference for they were quick to kill them before. My pacifistic ways caused a painful surge of essence to pause my attempt to stop one, blood dripping from my nose as a rumbling screech burst from my mouth to startle Kujo while one tried to eat Talon.

Flint went the non violent route of encasing himself and them in glue, Geppert acting barbaric with those devices that blew things up. He narrowly missed his intended target, I was thankful as all the ranged shots thus far failed to wound them. Twisting with the rotation of my hips with energy transferred from my arms, a telekinetic strike knocked the Wyvern unconscious. Before I could either have them flee or asleep, I witnessed a moment reminiscent of what Cheu suffered as the shrapnel ripped them into pieces. Frozen in horror, fighting back the urge to break the dwarf’s jaw I motioned towards the wyvern as the remaining one ran off. They were starving, desperate and instead most opt to kill them senselessly. In my own suffrage, others saw my concern by assisting in a way to help design a means to bring it with us. Celesia hopefully knows their ignorance was to protect those we were sworn to watch over because I feel certain rangers would agree with my ideals.

How I got a pretty mirror sword

So, we follow white dog to rescue pointy eared sleepy lady kid.. kidna… taken by pointy mouth freak. Pointy mouth freak and his loud mouth plus some other pointy mouth freaks, trolls and some smaller things tried to stop us from taking sleepy lady back. Trolls and their tree trunks hit Chumley. It stung a bit. Then Pretty pointy head horsey come again!! Chumley VERY lucky!! Pointy head horsey plant silver tree that turn trolls and other thingies back into proper Ogres and Orcs. Chumley is very happy! Oh, there was some human type deathy guy who seemed to not like Murvoth very much. Murvoth kept getting covered in black stuff. I hope he bathes…… Anyways… after silver tree makes Ogres and Trolls, death mouth guys blow up, main pointy mouth freak ran away (as usual, that guys a real wussy!) We take sleepy pointy lady to a gather. Some Ogre Chumley does not know gives Chumley a very light mirror sword. Chumley is happy, but isn’t quite sure what it does. Others say it hurts evil. Chumley pricks his finger and is slightly hurt, which makes sense as Chumley isn’t the most virtu… virtuo.. nice person on the planet!! Chumley is then told it doesn’t have to cut to hurt evil. I touch myself with flat of blade and it doesn’t hurt!! Chumley is happy! Then Chumley touches Murvoth with flat of blade. Murvoth doesn’t scream…. sword must be broken……

2nd to 7th of Harvest Moon

Ghost very focused on getting Shayline back ran up ahead, chasing him until Hanna Skye made an appearance with our horses in hand. Have not seen her in a longtime, but she wore some very decorative bracers of white-silver with arrow etching This entire trek to save her was tiring, entering the Malakar Dominion where our presence is not so welcomed.

It took time as we finally found Ghost, reading his body as he signaled all of us to stop here. Everyone rested and from there we reached the river from across the road. Apparently now in the well-known Evershade Forest based on the word of a ferry rider, we ascended straight into darkness akin to that area where we fought those servants of darkness we trailed from before from those wrenched abominations that were once orcs.

A pompous laugh emitted from this vampire, wishing to deliver her back to master. We could not let her be taken, I desired to smash his skull for his actions. Flint Ironfinder on horseback charged for the legions of darkness. Hanna suddenly vanished someplace, watching over us as she immediately turned one of the vampires to dust with her white-silver arrowhead. Flint came into contact with the enemy, slicing into flesh with the white-silver axe but no lasting damage. Chumley tested out the durable nature of the club they wielded, bracing for impact and standing his grounds. Rorauk prayer to Celesia to protect her chosen priestess, three golems of clay emerged from the ground. All started to come to the aid of Chumley. This human necromancer with black hurls of darkness emulating from him was hard to damage, but mostly he attempted some spells on just me. This armor drew all the evil in my direction, all the sodding time.

Hanna made one vampire a pin cushion with two white-silver arrows buried near the heart, still unseen from everyone. Luckily the Trolls ran into trouble, one crashing his club into the ground, beaten up beyond any kind of chance to fix it. The other having two claygolems shielding him from harm. Rorauk might be more pious than imagined, prayer bringing out some air spirits called airchildren. Their appearance made a difference, denying the necromancer spellcasting and pummeling him with a wind current.

Celesia made a shocking entrance, her glimmering light and an image of a silver tree coursed through the vision of these corrupted Goblinesh. These creatures of Darkness transformed into Ogres and Orcs, proving her empathy was true and she cared for all. This was a miracle in itself, overwhelming the vampires by light and the vampire disappearing.

The necromancer went invisible after receiving my onslaught of strikes from my gauntlets I held that needed some repair.Going invisible it became a game of hide and seek, always trying to hurt me. These air spirits froze him from his spot after I sensed his darkness imbued aura and everyone us searching. Canden shot his Dwarven Crossbow to kill him, sadden I couldn’t get my chance to finish him.

8th of Harvest Moon

At the Northern Gather of Bralk after some travel, an Ogre that was rescued did Chumley a favor by finding a white-silver Ogre greatsword. He looked confused, feeling pain when explained it hurts evil. Though comical he soon understood why we said such things. It was awkward seeing a Gather this far, hearing rumors of the old ways of the North.

12th of Harvest Moon

Exhausting for most of us, we all got back to Crag. The Ogres had a home at Bralk and four more Orcs joined the gather at Slatespirit. Not bad for an simple guy like me.

Vampires "suck"!

Vampires Suck. There can be no doubt of this. They send their minions ahead of them because they are afraid to face combat themselves. They prey on the weak. They hide at range and wait for Chumley to close with them. Some day I will get a great vampire within reach and I will make him scream in exquisite agony. On the plus side many vampires died, approximately 6 (Chumley CAN count that high!!) and Trolls and hobgoblins. We will see what happens in the future. Pretty unicorn girl Shaylene flew off with evil vampire type overlord. Chumley will need to get Big Sword made of “White Silver” if he is to beat up undead Aholes…

Shayline’s personal log

After chasing the Malakaran agents that had been spreading the rumor that the elves had been the cause of the storm I was summoned to the Captain’s office. I was informed that there had been disappearances of farmers northeast of Stone. I was ordered to gather the other rangers and find what was happening and stop it. I headed to Slatespirit and informed the others to prepare to head out. I was told it would take almost a day for Grimjack to get out of the tunnels. We are going to have to have the dwarves look into expanding the tunnels if Grimjack and the other ogres wish to spend time in their gather. I decided to head North and start investigating the disappearances. I made it to Stone and was informed of the location of the farmers that had gone missing. I headed to that area and spent the night at a farm house. After calling on a air spirit to keep watch I went to sleep. During the night I woke to strange sounds. Investigating I found 2 vampires feeding on the farmer and his wife. I wasn’t strong enough to fight them and had to Stonewalk away. I was fortunately able to chase off the ones feeding on the children. Not wanting a repeat I sanctified the farm. The next day I began gathering the remaining farmers and sanctified two more farms. Near the end of the day a weary Murvoth and his companion animals arrived along with Ghost. I ordered him to rest. I knew he would insist on attacking the vampires but I don’t believe even together we are strong enough to fight the Vampires.
I sanctified 3 more farms the next day before resting and on the third day the rest of the Rangers arrived. Mozog informed us that the vampires are immune to all damage not of everwood or white silver and they take damage if exposed to direct sunlight. May the ascended aid us for I believe we are in for a challenge that may test our strength.
